Time Off Types
Time Off types are needed to create banks for your employees to earn and use time off. These are created through the time off main menu:
Click the "types" button
Default banks have been automatically set up for you. You can choose to edit or delete these by clicking the pencil or trash can for each bank. To create a new type, click the add button
Title:
Create a title for your type, this will be the name of the time off type.
Can the user enter a quantity?
- Yes: Users are able to enter a quantity for the amount of time off they would like to take
- Restrict quantities allowed: A drop down will be created for the employee to choose only the quantities you have specified in this list
- No: The user will not be able to enter a quantity and every request will default to 1.00
This type can be banked for future use
This will determine whether this type is bankable time off or if it is used immediately upon earning.
- An example of Yes would be bankable time off like vacation or sick where the user will be able to accumulate them over time and choose when they would like to take the time off
- An example of No would be something that a user would only earn when it is immediately be used such as a holiday or bereavement
Will this add to the user's hours worked for the week?
This option is best suited for use with a bank of hours vs a bank of days. Once approved, the hours from a time off request will be added to the employees time card and calculated into the total hours for the week
If this adds into hours worked, will it be used to calculate overtime?
If you are using the payroll module and this PTO is treated as hourly pay, by selecting yes, the amount will be included at the end of the week when calculate overtime.
Limit who can use this type
You can choose which users will be able to view, accrue and use this time off type. This can be limited by position or individual user
